From Nuts, Bolts, and Scrap Into Animal Sculptures

Waste is any substance or object that the creator or possessor discards, intends to discard or is required to discard. Simply put, waste is anything that is discarded, surplus or otherwise dumped into the environment and that may affect it. Just because we think something is waste does not mean that it magically disappears. It continues to exist somewhere. The more items we use, the more waste we generate.

What would you do if you had unnecessary waste like scrap metal? What do you think when you see a rusty fork, a malfunctioning screwdriver and a piece of sheet metal from a car? Most of us would describe these things as rubbish or waste from which we must get rid of. Some people would make art out of it. Metal sculptures can be made of many materials, but most are made of bronze. For the artist, like the one below, metal is just another material for creating works of art. But American artist Brian Mock has different plans for this scrap metal. He is an artist who simply enjoys creating art using things that other people have thrown away.

Believe it or not, Brian Mock uses all kinds of screws, hooks, bolts, nuts and other scrap metal to create sculptures of animals, people and other shapes.

He says his sculptures are made entirely of discarded objects, most commonly metal, but sometimes plastic. It is interesting for him when people approach to take photos next to one of the objects he has made. He says that it started as a hobby, but after he perfected making sculpture in time, this became his profession.

This art is extremely interesting and unusual. It is interesting how these metal sculptures look very vivid and convey different emotions. The sculptures are in their real size, so that makes them even more attractive to people.

What does it mean to reuse waste? What does this mean for the environment?

Reuse is any procedure in which the waste equipment or its components are used for the same purpose for which they were made, including the further use of the equipment or its components returned to traders, at collection points, assembly centers, installations. for recycling waste equipment or at manufacturers. To reuse means to use an item again after it has been used before. The item can be reused in a conventional way, it means to use the item again for the same function, but it can also be given a new life cycle, which means that the same item can be used for a different function. We have several benefits from the reuse of the items, as follows:

– prevents pollution in a way that reduces the need to collect new materials;

– saves energy;

– helps to preserve the environment for future generations;

– saves financial resources;

– reduces the amount of waste that should be recycled or taken to landfills;

– allows items to be used to their maximum.
