Once Left in a Dumpster, Miracle Man Has a Multi-Million Dollar Company

In 1989, Freddie Figgers was left in a Florida dumpster to die just hours after he was born. The baby was found by a passerby and brought to a hospital. He was found just in time so Freddie sustained no injuries. After a couple of days, Freddie was transferred to a foster home. His foster parents Nathan and Betty Figgers had a daughter already, and after a short while, they decided to adopt the new baby.

While he got all the love and support he needed at home, things were harsh in school. Freddie recalls being called the dumpster baby and he was bullied all the time. Lacking self-esteem, he rarely fought back, but persevered and manage to ace school. Decades later, it all paid off – Freddie Figgers now runs a multi-million-dollar company.

The dumpster baby obviously made it in life. He was once very ashamed of his past, but has overcome that and enjoys life now. As he says, his life changed in 1989.

“Blame” It on Macintosh

It all started back in 1989 when Freddie’s father bought him a Macintosh computer from a thrift shop. It only cost $25. Nathan believed the computer would keep Freddie out of trouble and set it up on the kitchen table. Freddie was very curious about the new machine, and started taking it apart. He did it several times and put it back together. After a while, the young man realized he could use spare parts from a radio to power it on.

Bit by bit, Freddie learned things about mechanics and technology in general. He learned fast and got very good at repairing computers. They were a luxury at the time and there weren’t that many repairmen around. At the age of 13, Freddie got his first job gig after the city of Quincy hired him to assist in computer repair.

Two years later, the “dumpster baby” launched his own company – Figgers Computers. He worked out of his parents’ living room, repairing clients’ computers and helping them store data on his personal servers.

Years later, he built his own cloud database and skipped college. The big break came when he was 23 after selling a unique GPS tracker program to a Kansas-based company for over $2 million. He invented the device to help his ailing father who had Alzheimer’s and was known to wander off. Sadly, his father Nathan passed in 2014 after a long battle with the disease.

Freddie recalls the tough times, but he’s immensely grateful to his adoptive father for shaping him into the man he is today.

A Successful Entrepreneur

Freddie now owns Figgers Wireless – a telecommunications company worth over $60 million. He also has a charity organization called Figgers Foundation that donates to different causes. He’s trying to help as many people as he can and credits his parents for believing in him and allowing him to pursue his own career.

As for his mother, he hasn’t met her yet. He learned that she was a prostitute with a drug addiction, but says he doesn’t plan on meeting her. Freddie’s life is perfect like this. He’s a married man with a 2-year old daughter who runs a multi-million-dollar company. Quite an achievement for a “dumpster baby”, isn’t it?
