Home Recipe for a Natural Toilet Cleaner

The toilet is one of the filthiest parts of the home, which requires constant cleaning. You may spend hours in scrubbing, and, at the end, you still feel that it isn’t clean enough. The commercial cleaning products cannot always provide you with the desired effects, and they can be very harmful to your health. One of the most dangerous chemicals included in these products is the bleach. Due to its chlorine content, the bleach can severely damage your skin, and it can cause severe headaches and allergies. These cleaning products also contain a high level of hydrochloric acid which can be responsible for causing respiratory problems and kidney damage. In order to clean the toilet without exposing yourself to any health problems, you should use natural cleaners. Here is a recipe for making your own cleaning bombs that will help you to easily clean the toilet.

How to Make Natural Toilet Cleaning Bombs?

The items required for making these toilet cleaners are:

  • ½ cup of baking soda
  • ½ cup of corn starch
  • ½ cup of citric acid
  • 25 drops of essential oil of your choice
  • Water
  • Spray bottle
  • Molds or muffin tins
  • Zip-top bag
  • Large Ziploc baggie

Place all the ingredients, except for the essential oil, into the bag. Shake the bag in order to combine the ingredients. When you are done, pour 2-3 spritzes of water into the bag. Afterward, you should seal the bag and knead. Repeat the process for about 6 times. The baking soda and the acid may make the bag puff. In case that happens, release the air from it. Your mixture should stay together when you squeeze it with your hand, and it should resemble pie dough. Don’t use too much water. Add the oil and knead the content again. When you are done, pack the mixture into the molds and apply pressure by using a muffin tin. Leave this mixture to dry for 2 days. After these 2 days, take the mixture out of the molds, and leave it to dry for 2 more days.

Drop one of these cleaning bombs into the toilet. After it starts to fizz, use a brush to clean the toilet and flush afterward. Place the rest of the bombs in a sealed container. By using these cleaning bombs, you will protect both yourself and the environment.
