The Best Side for Sleeping

All sleeping positions don’t have a positive impact on our health, and in some cases the way you sleep can significantly affect the quality of your dream. When you sleep your body and your mind are relaxed. All the cells of the body regenerating and strengthens the immune system. However not all sleep positions are equally healthy.

Finding out why the left side is best for sleeping

Not everyone knows that posture for sleep is essential for our body, and mostly affects our digestion. It is well known that in ancient times, people practiced to lie down after every meal which made easier digestion.

 

Is left side sleeping important?

First, when you sleep on the left side your lymphatic system works better and helps the functioning of filter toxins, lymph fluid and waste through the thoracic duct and the lymph nodes.

Other reasons are facilitating the heart to sends blood down, better remove harmful substances, contributes to healthy functioning of the spleen, promote good digestion, it helps the flow of the blood to the heart and it contributes for free flow of bile.

 

Wrong side sleeping

This side of sleeping can harder the digestion. Our lymphatic system, the stomach and the liver, but also the bladder and pancreas are on the reverse (right) side and they are unable to release waste products and they expire harder to the urinary system. So it is difficult to produce enzymes that our body needs to neutralize fatty acids. Sleeping on this (right) side increases the risk of many deadly diseases!

 

The spleen function

This is the biggest lymphoid in the human body. The function of the spleen is filtering the blood and removing the abnormal cells. It also stores iron, which returns to the circulation and is used from the bone marrow for production of new blood cells.

 

If you want to lead a healthy life you need to sleep 8 hours a day, children from 10 to 14 hours depending on the age. For healthy life is not important only the length of sleep but also the position in which you sleep.

 

There are few advises that may help you to sleep on the better side:

 

– Sleeping on your back can lead to impaired and difficulty breathing, and sleep on the right side can be dangerous for your digestive system.

– Make a habit of sleeping on the left side! You can put pillows on the right side along the entire body in order to prevent rotation to the right.

-If you sleep on the right side, try to change and sleep on the left side.

– For those who suffer from heartburn from the rich and spicy meal, sleeping on left side will facilitate, while each turn on the right side only aggravates them.

– On pregnant women improves blood flow to the baby’s heart, which is great for both mother and baby.

– Another tip, keep the lamp turned on, right beside the bed, it will certainly make you turn the left side.
