This Cute Cabin Cost Only 700 Bucks, and Yes, It Is Real

Ever dreamed of owning such a cool cabin in a nearby forest where you can just spend the weekends without a care in the world? Well, now you can, and it’ll only set you back 700 bucks. A couple from Montana completed this simple A-frame cabin and spent only $700. Alla Ponomerova and her husband love DIY projects and tiny homes, and with 20 acres to spare, they had all the room to experiment.

Tiny, But Very Affordable

The couple got the idea after watching a video design online by Derek “Deek” Diedreksen. He constructed a tiny A-frame cabin on his own, and they loved his idea. With just a few weeks left of summer, they started working after buying the plan.

The house was only 80 square feet, so it didn’t take long to construct. It all started with the floor. They built it in their barn before transporting it to their location of choice. Next came the walls and the windows. They upcycled most of the materials, and that’s the biggest reason why the cabin cost so little.

Ponomerova’s sister had two used windows to spare, and they installed these in their cabin. An old deck was recycled and used for the door. The handle to the same door was made from a deer antler they found in the woods.

The result? It’s a cute custom-built cabin that cost only $700. Alla herself made the beds and custom mattresses and covers. They upcycled aged wood into a gorgeous countertop and logs for the porch stairs.

Of course, the cabin is tiny – just enough to put a bed in it and open one side of the frame to watch the stars. That’s the whole point – stargazing on lazy weekends and leaving the stressful times in the city.

Wouldn’t you like such a cabin on your own? Now that you’ve got an idea of what to do, get to work!
