How to Do the Jin Shin Jyutsu Technique for Managing Your Emotions?

According to the Jin Shin Jyutsu technique, each finger of your hand is connected to a different emotional issue. The thumb is connected to worry, stress and tension, the index finger to fear, the middle finger to anger, the ring finger to sadness, grief and guilt, and the little finger to low-self esteem. These feelings can be eliminated simply by holding the finger that corresponds to your emotion.

This exercise can be done anywhere, at any time, as long as you are standing or sitting quietly while doing it. In order to do this healing hand exercise, you need to hold the finger which relates to your unwanted emotion with the opposite hand. You should do this by wrapping all of your fingers of the opposite hand around the selected finger.

Hold the finger from 2 to 5 minutes, until you start feeling the pulse of energy in your finger. The pulse usually occurs at the top or bottom of your finger and, sometimes is very difficult to feel it. Nevertheless, if you don’t feel the pulse, it doesn’t mean that the exercise is not working.

While you are holding the finger, take slow and deep breaths. By doing this, you are releasing the physical and the emotional tension. If you want to achieve a complete emotional balance and harmonization, you should repeat this exercise on every finger.
